Welcome to my site!

My new round of classes will be starting in mid-April. I've decided to step up my group class offerings, so I'll be teaching a Beginning Banjo Class, a Beginning Mandolin Class, a level 2 Banjo Class (for those that play a little) and my regular Bluegrass Jam Class. And as always, in the beginning classes, you can get a free, take home banjo or mandolin for the nine week duration of the class. Don't miss out on this great deal!

I'll be teaching a Kid Fiddle class at the Santa Clara Valley Fiddler's Association on Sunday afternoon, April 4th. Also will be having my Kids Jam Class do a 15 minute set there. It's a great place to jam too, so come on out!

My daughter Molly and I will be teaching bluegrass harmony singing at the Walker Creek Music Camp, April 11th - 14th. This is a very nice camp in Marin County that runs from a Friday to a Monday. We'll teach how to find harmonies and the theory behind it, while also covering the stylistic elements that define bluegrass singing. Come join us for a very fun four day event with lots of other electives, jams and just hanging out. You have a blast!

The Tuttles with AJ Lee

The Tuttles with AJ Lee will be taking a break for a little while, as Molly finishes up her final semester at the Berklee College of Music. She'll be all done in the middle of May and then be home for the summer (minus some travel dates).

What's On My Site

The site is mainly meant to be a resource for my current students in the South San Francisco Bay Area. However, anyone who is learning to play should find something of interest.

Most of the navigation buttons lead to obvious content. Some of things you will find on my website include:

  • Schedule a Lesson lets you schedule a one-time lesson, or reschedule a missed lesson.
  • About Lessons has all the basic information about taking lessons from me including when, where, how much and how to schedule a lesson.
  • Helpful Tips is an entry point for all help for each instrument and a link to the top ten things that you can do to improve your playing. The top ten includes tips for more effective practice.
  • Explore some of the links down the left side to learn more about bluegrass .
